2nd Years Show Racism The Red Card

As part of our study of Harper Lee's groundbreaking novel 'To Kill A Mockingbird', we studied the themes of Prejudice and Racism crippling American society in the Deep South. We learned lots about racial segregation and prejudice, be it based on gender, age, or race. The girls then took part in the Creative Competition 'Show Racism the Red Card', open to both primary and secondary schools nationwide. Students were invited to compose a creative piece through written, visual or audio visual means, with a strong Anti-Racism message.

Well done to students Lauren Doyle, Abbie Flannery, Molly Hurley and Ruqaiya Saeed, whose short story, opinion piece and art works have been selected to represent Mount Sackville's entries. We wish them good luck with the next round of the competition!
