Great Reads Award Ceremony
Five of our First Year students attended the Great Reads Award Ceremony at the King's Hospital School library on the 17th February. They got to meet the winning authors and mingle with other fiction reading enthusiasts. The Great Reads Award is a debut young adult fiction writers' award for a recently published novel. The award is shortlisted by school librarians and voted upon by secondary school students. The five students, Daisy Connor, Gráinne Browne, Habiba Khan, Nawaal Ather and Caitlin Flores-Lynch, had voted on the award and were delighted to meet the authors of the books they had read in person. The winning authors were Lisa Williamson for The Art of Being Normal and Moira Fowley-Doyle for The Accident Season. Dave Rudden received a prize for the most read book, The Knights of the Borrowed Dark.
