Poetry Aloud 2016
On October 24th 2016, four Mount Sackville students participated in the National Poetry Aloud Competition at the National Library in Kildare Street. Over 1500 students took part all around the country in various regional centres. It was a wonderful occasion for our students to showcase their natural ability to recite poetry and express themselves before a live audience and set of adjudicators. The girls recited poems by Hillaire Belloc, Sylvia Plath, Austin Clarke, Patrick Kavanagh and Francis Ledwidge. They represented Mount Sackville at the highest level. Well done to 1st year Phoebe Qiu, 2nd years, Eva Gaynor and Genevieve McDonnell and 4th year Tiffany Qiu.
Particular congratulations go to Tiffany who was selected to go forward to the national semi finals. Well done Tiffany and best of luck going forward.
