TY Italian Trip
The Transition Year Italian students are just back from an exciting trip to Italy. The girls experienced so much as they got to visit the cities of Milano and Verona. They took part in Italian language classes. They also had two days’ ski lessons and many of the girls went from being beginner skiers on nursery slopes to taking the chairlift up the mountain by the first afternoon! By the second afternoon they were undertaking mini jumps on the slopes and hardly fell at all as they skied down the slopes. As their Italian teacher, it was a pleasure to bring them to Italy and I was impressed by how enthusiastic they were about all the activities and also trying to use their Italian. The hotel in which we stayed was an authentic family run hotel. The lady of the hotel was delighted that the girls were learning Italian and she spoke with them in Italian. She was very helpful and the food was delizioso! The girls were tired out walking up and down the hill to the town centre but hopefully the ice-skating and the hot chocolates made up for that. Instead of an Italian trip, they were nearly calling it boot camp by the end of the trip as it was so action packed!
