Mount Sackville Secondary School

Gaelic Football

Gaelic football was introduced into Mount Sackville in 2009. Coached by Ms Sheila Carroll, we currently have 3 teams playing in the Leinster League. The players are divided into 3 different age categories, U-14, U-16 and U-19, making it possible for all years to get involved.  The teams consist of club players and beginners, altogether making up a squad of about 20 players within each category. Absolutely everybody is welcome!

Training for all teams takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunchtime from 1.20 to 1.50. Earlier in the year we were joined by Paul O'Brien from St. Brigid's GAA club who provided expert coaching for us.  Not only do the teams take part in the Leinster League, they also often participate in blitz competitions where they compete with schools from all over Dublin.

Great start for Minor League;

October 26th 2016

Great victory today for the Junior football team who beat Castleknock Community College (CCC) by an impressive score of 8-15 to 6-5 . Friends became competitors as they fought hard on the pitch, battling for every ball. The girls now have topped their group and hope to continue on their winning streak in the further matches.  Ms. C is very happy with the progress made by the team and very grateful for the parents who supported on the sideline.
