Assessment and Information Day

Assessment and Information Day: March 7th, 2020

On Saturday last we had a positive and affirming Assessment and Information Day. The whole school community prepared for our incoming students and their families. It was a day that saw collegial and collaborative work at its finest. We planned and prepared every detail for our incoming students and ensured that their day would be remembered as the first great step in their six year journey as part of the Mount Sackville school community.

Our wonderful prefects and 5th year leaders arrived in abundance and were exemplary in their leadership and care for their charges. Indeed they were a great support with all of our guests.

Parents and guardians were engaged in a hub of information sharing and gathering. The Senior Management team, together with many Deans, our Chaplain, SEN coordinator and teachers presented the rich and full educational experience available at Mount Sackville. We explored holistic education and engaged with ethos as well as blended teaching and learning. Having heard the Deans of 1st year outline what the year entails and how they support each student, we heard from a 1st year herself. Katie Lyons shared her very helpful observations of life in Mount Sackville thus far and was applauded for her detail and honesty.

Later on, members of our Sports department were on hand to discuss the full and varied sports opportunities as well as the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy options. The Parents Association together with Strike Performance and the Dean of Admissions were present to dialogue with any query.

The incoming 1st years were relieved that their morning was such a positive experience and left with their personalised Mount Sackville biodegradable bottle and an acute sense that they already belonged here.
