Teaching, Learning, Assessment and Reporting (TLAR)
Teaching and Learning are at the heart of our school community. Our approach to teaching and learning is modelled on best practice and is informed by Department of Education and Skills policy and practice. Each subject department is represented on the school’s TLAR committee, which brings teachers together to work collaboratively, sharing best practice and developing expertise.
The TLAR committee has launched various initiatives which enhance teaching and learning across the school. Academic Tracking, Active Learning strategies and the development of Assessment for Learning methodologies are just an example of the initiatives which have been promoted by the TLAR committee. The committee meets several times a year to evaluate the effectiveness of our initiatives and to assess areas of further improvement. We continually review our initiatives following School Self-Evaluation guidelines.
