'Ours is not to reap the harvest, Ours is just to sow the seed'
Blessed Anne-Marie Javouhey

Deputy Principal's Welcome

VP.jpgWelcome to the new Mount Sackville website. We hope that our new site captures the heartbeat of our every-day in school. We have set out to illustrate the way we learn together, the way we participate in activities together and the way we live out and share our faith together. We wish to communicate the amazing work created here, the bright sparks of ideas and initiatives that have their origins here, those bright sparks that when afforded the care and scaffolding they deserve, become the burning flames of all that we can become. Together we are stronger, and our connectedness and sense of belonging empowers us to support young women who will in their own time, confidently and respectfully take up their place in society.

We wish to introduce new elements on our website that feature the voice of every member of our school community. Whether it’s academics or athletics, debates or drama, faith or friendships, these and all that goes on in between will be posted, tweeted, uploaded and shared. Together, we bring you an opportunity to explore our ethos driven educational community in real time.

The poet Mary Oliver offers us instructions for living a life, she invites us to:

‘Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it.’

We wish for our new website to fulfil this invitation as we live in a mindful way offering gratitude for the privilege of sharing the road together.

We are paying attention, we are astonished and yes, we are telling about it.
